Overall I'm giving Bud Light Lime Water-Melon-Rita a soild 4 out 5. Anheuser-Busch, did a nice job with this one. I would buy this brew when, I'm in the mood for something different than your typical beer. There is really nothing bad about this brew. Bud Light Lime Water-Melon-Rita goes down nice and smooth. You really can't pick up on the 8.0% ABV in this brew. It puts you in the mind of soda/pop with alcohol. I will say this, it is different from most brews on the market today. Now for the taste of this brew, it is sweet and sour, with watermelon. This brew has an high ABV with lots of sugars. Bud Light Lime Water-Melon-Rita is not your typical beer. No hops, malts or grains in the smell of this brew. The smell is sweet with watermelon an alcohol. This brew pours out a nice pinkish red color with a small pink head. Look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4īud Light Lime Water-Melon-Rita brewed by Anheuser-Busch, with an ABV of 8.00%. I was clearly NOT their target audience, but it could have been far worse in several directions. Finish was sweet to semi-sweet, still very much like a Jolly Rancher hard CANdy. Whew! It was not as sharp as Minhas' Watermelon beverages, but it was not too far behind. I find it hard to deal with sweet, so I CAN at least handle this. It could have gone in CANpletely the other direction and been a sugary mess. I say that without any cynicism or irony. The taste was the familiar tart sourness of a watermelon Jolly Rancher! Thank goodness. Nose was, indeed, reminiscent of Jolly Ranchers! Mouthfeel was a bit thin and watery. Color was a pretty coral-pink (SRM = N/A), albeit a hazy one. The head fizzed briefly and then left just a shimmering, sparkling surface in its wake. of pure goodness, coming right up! The inaugural Watermelon Wednesday began with a loud Crack!, followed by as much of a Glug as I could muster with so much liquid involved.

This is also my kickoff to Watermelon Wednesday, an idea that got shot down for wide dissemination, but which I CAN CANduct on my own.įrom the CAN: "Margarita with a Twist" "Try it over ice! (with a rebus showing the result)". This is a horrible beer, and I couldn’t recommend more that you avoid this beer as if it were carrying some sort of plague.Look: 2.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 2.25 | overall: 3Īnother victim of The CANQuest's backlog, but at least I got the approved pic.

BUD LIGHT MARGARITA BOTTLE SERIES

The point of this series is for us to drink some horrible beers so that you don’t have to.

But such things are not the point of the Bad Brew series. I would suggest that as a punishment this liquid manure start being served to prisoners throughout the country, however that would likely be considered “Cruel and Unusual Punishment.” Really, I wouldn’t wish this beer on my worst enemy. Luckily I have other options around to help erase the night mare of Lime-A-Rita from my mouth. Never has a beer made me long for a PBR more. Bud Light Lime-A-Rita might be the worst thing I have ever poured into a glass and consumed willingly. If you drink enough of Lime-A-Rita I would expect the sugar and sweetness of this beer to make you feel lethargic, but at 8% ABV you might be too drunk at that point to notice or care. Lastly this body-less abomination assaults your palate with unpleasant bitterness, likely from the chemically enhanced citrus, still, true to the Bud Light name the beer is in fact light, unless you find yourself drinking this at a frat party where bad beer flows like water. There’s just a little bit of a salty after taste on this, I suppose that’s what makes it margarita like but really it’s just unpleasant. What head was on this beer dissipated about as quick as you would expect the head on a can of Coke to dilute leaving you with the sweet sticky mouth feel of lemon lime syrup, sugar, and other things that are not so good. More like I opened a can that had been infused with plutonium enhanced limes.

It’s super carbonated and the aroma of irradiated lime and lemon is instantly noticeable, but not in a good way. Lime-A-Rita pours somewhere between a soda pop and a lemonade. I really wasn’t sure what the proper glassware would be for a Bud Light Lime-A-Rita so I went with a mason jar, I don’t think the glass I chose affected the brew negatively in any way. Lime-A-Rita is a malty hyper sweetened beverage that somehow has forced its way into my local beer section. This is what the good people in the Rita marketing department tell us about Lime-A-Rita, a beer that tastes like a Margarita, what more could a beer lover hope for? Well it left this beer fan wanting a different beer.
